broken

It is not in Coline's nature to complain. When she really hurts herself she cries, she does not scream, squeal, howl nor whine. She comes to me with a little tear in her eyes and a sad face and all it takes for her to get over it is a few seconds of breastmilk. This is how she got over it when she fell off a chair last Tuesday. It was way past bedtime and we left it there until the next day. She kept on pointing at her arm and we could tell that it hurt whenever she tripped because she could not use her arm to stand up again. We (and the doctor) were quite confident that she would complain more than that if her arm were broken. Three days and an x-ray later it turned out that she broke her arm near the wrist. We spent four hours at the hospital where she and Leila played, apparently oblivious of the long wait and possibly constant pain. She laughed as the doctor put a cast on her arm and marveled at how cold it feels when she puts it on her tummy. She did get upset when she tried to take all her clothes off and managed, except for the cast. She gave Leila a pat on her head and Leila, on the contrary, screamed as if her head had split in two. Luckily it had not.

  1. Oh, mes Amours! My lovely ones ! but it doesn't seem too difficult for Coline to manage with a broken arm in "cast", and Leila has a chance to be an even more helpful big sister.
Not nice to be stroken with a hard arm?
How does Col accepts being assisted?
    Is she going ambidextre ?
Love and patience for the next few days,
